Will there be a jailbreak for iOS 15 & higher?

Last Updated on 2 years by admin

Stil there is no Jailbreak tool for iOS 15. It might be because Apple has introduced several new security measures like signed system volume protection, which will make jailbreaking the OS more difficult than before in iOS 15.

Still, Checkra1n also was not compatible with iOS 15 & higher. However, there were few exploits discovered over the past several weeks.

So, let’s look at the latest situation of iOS 15 & higher Jailbreak.

0-Day exploit for iOS 15 Jailbreak

A famous Security researcher @08Tc3wBB has achieved a Zero-Day exploit on iOS 15. He successfully achieves arbitrary code execution. Also, this is a 0-day vulnerability & currently Apple doesn’t know about the exploit. So, Apple hasn’t patched it yet. It is useful for Jailbreaking.

However, he has no plan for releasing the 0day exploit at the moment.

Kernel exploit for iOS 15.1 jailbreak

iOS 15.1 is Apple’s latest version. A new hacker @realBrightiup shared a screenshot of a kernel-level exploit for iOS 15.1 and below that was tested on an iPhone 12 Pro Max, running iOS 15.1 build 19B74. According to the screenshot, this exploit unlocks writes to the kernel memory. It is an important step in achieving arbitrary code execution.

Unc0ver for iOS 15.2 Jailbreak

iOS 15.2 is still in beta stage. However, there was a Reddit article that claims for iOS 15.2 Unc0ver modified version. Further it says, unc0ver downloading 15.2, 15.3, 15.4 will work for the next three updates plus any bug fixes that may be issued. Many users also tried the said method and appreciated his work. However, there is no official site mention about this. We also checked and got the following error message. So, this may not be legitimate.

Also, Security researcher Saar Amar, found Kernel-level vulnerability in IOMobileFrameBuffer/AppleCLCD in iOS 15, iOS 15.0.1 versions earlier. Read more about the vulnerability from this article.

If there are several exploits, No jailbreak for these latest versions. That is because Apple has made jailbreaking much harder in iOS 15 by adding modifications in the root filesystem of the OS that will prevent your iPhone from booting. It might need every jailbreak to now be rootless and not modify any system files. Hope developers are able to find a way to create a jailbreak tool soon.
