What is BlobSaver?
Before we talk about BlobSaver, you need to know about SHSH blobs first. It is also called SHSH2 blob or SHSH. SHSH is a digital signature that Apple generates and uses to personalize IPSW firmware files for each iOS device.
BlobSaver is a cross-platform graphical user interface (GUI) app for saving SHSH blobs using tsschecker. Initially, blobsaver v1.0 released by @airsquared on Jun 18, 2018 supporting both Mac and Windows. Later add Linux support too. It has released many updated versions over the past 3 years and v3.0.3 is the latest release of BlobSaver.

Why do you need to save iOS SHSH2 blobs?
- When Apple releases a bug-fix software update, it will limit downgrade and update to a lower version of iOS. On the other hand, when an iOS version becomes unsigned by Apple there’s no way to save the blobs or downgrade/upgrade
- Apple does not let you downgrade or upgrade freely to any iOS version. You will be able to downgrade or upgrade in the future once a jailbreak is out by saving these blobs.
