Turn your Wi-Fi into a Profitable Income with Helium mining

Turn your Wi-Fi into a Profitable Income - HELIUM MINING - thetechpapa.com

Last Updated on 2 years by admin

Helium Mining is the best and easiest way to get profitable income from home. All you need is to connect a Helium miner / HNT miner to your existing Wi-Fi. In simple language it is similar to a Wi-Fi Access Point. Just plug it in and let others connect, that’s the concept.

What is Helium Mining

If you search a little bit deeper and see how you can turn your WIFI into a home income with Helium mining, you will find endless posts online. But in this post, we are sharing all you need to know about Helium Mining. Helium is one of the newest blockchain networks that is designed to create a decentralized and public wireless network system. Why you call it decentralized and public is because it can be connected to existing Wi-Fi networks in any home / office…etc. And the system will only use 5W power. The aim is to cover the whole world with the Helium LongFi network. As a reward the users who support the growth of the network get rewarded in HNT. Also, there are ways to get Helium Hotspot Activity and Reward Notifications straight to your Discord Channel / Mobile

It is also based on a novel work algorithm called Proof of Coverage (PoC). The idea behind building the Helium blockchain is very much innovative. It doesn’t require a big capital investment, very less effort, no approvals and permits for street hotspot. Even the internet connectivity and grid power need to manage by the individuals who plan to mine. However, the earnings from Mining seems huge. So, this can be a win-win for both Helium and the Miners.

Proof of Coverage (PoC)

The algorithm is created to check and verify the location as they are claimed to be marked on the helium hotspot map. This process is done automatically as an ongoing process. This is called “Proof of Coverage”.

Hardware for Helium Mining

There are around nine helium mining hotspot manufactured for helium mining. Also, with the approval of HIP 19 3rd party manufacturers also got the chance of producing hardware for HNT mining. Which means in the near future there will be more products to support the trend.

With the increasing trend for Helium Mining most of the current hotspots are out of stock. And you need to be on a waiting list to get one.

Things that you need to consider before purchasing a Helium Miner

  • Depending on your country the supported frequency of the Wi-Fi varies, therefore it is something that you need to check before making the purchase.
  • Though some devices support mining there are limitations, you need to check in details about the product features and make sure that the Helium miner that you are planning to purchase meets your requirement.
Example – Kerlink Helium miner supports various frequencies but if you purchase this you won’t be able to participate in consensus groups which could affect the income.

    • Enhanced 4dbi antenna
    • Equipped with industrial-grade Rockchip PX30, a high-performance quad-core processor
    • Built-in 64GB eMMC flash for better data security/storage
    • OTA updates with remote settings change without having to send it back to the manufacturer.
    • Uses little power as a 5W
  • FreedomFi – Currently out of stock – available through waitlist
    • 5G cellular coverage
  • Linxdot Hotspot – New release can preorder now
    • 3dBi LoRa antenna

Finding best location for Helium Miner Installation

Unlike installing normal Wi-Fi access points there are few things that you need to consider when setting a location for the Helium Miner. Think of this as a common public Wi-Fi which provides wireless signal for random external users. Also, if you are the only person that has a public Wi-Fi will it be efficient for the external public Wi-Fi users? The answer is NO. To provide better coverage there should be several Wi-Fi accesses points so that the users can seamlessly connect as they move.

The coverage should be like a mesh

The location of the Helium Minier has a direct impact on the earnings that you make. If you are the only minor in your area, then you will not receive any earnings. But if you can afford to purchase the hardware it will be a good investment for the future.

Key Points when placing your helium mining device
  • Place the Mining device with better access for the external users
Example – Close to a Window in roadside
  • Select a place which is open. Buildings could affect the coverage.
  • If you are placing Helium mining devices there should be a distance of 300 meters.
Hotspot Miners can earn more HNT when they’re in range of other miners but need to be at least 300 meters apart. Also, the range depends on the environment: rural areas: ~10 miles or more, dense areas: ~1 mile.

How to find available Helium Miners around you including earnings

Before you invest for a helium miner it is advisable to check the neighborhood around you and find out more about possible earnings. You can do this while you stay at home.

Helium Hotspot Map
Go to the website – https://explorer.helium.com/

Once you visit the site there is a search on the top right-hand corner. Which lets you search for a country / area. If the search is not working for you then look for your location on the globe.

Below helium hotspot map shows green dots, which means those locations already include helium miners.

How does the income calculate for Helium Miners

Helium Miners income is calculating based on many factors. Therefore, it is always better to have an idea on how your income is calculated. If you went through the full post, you might come across one of the miners that I shared does not support participating in consensus groups. Which means if you own this miner, you won’t receive the earnings that are calculated through consensus groups.

Helium Miners get rewarded / paid through HNT Coins; you can check the HNT to US conversion from the HNT Coinbase

HNT Distribution

Before talking about HNT Distribution, it is better to get a basic idea about the Helium Coin.

What is Helium Coin

As discussed above Helium is a people’s network. Helium miners receive Helium Tokens as rewards. These tokens are also called as coins. Helium crypto price can be viewed on https://www.heliumtracker.io/

Helium Coin is one of the leading coins in cryptocurrency. Many trusted exchanges allow trading, staking HNT. Trustwallet and Binance US are few among those. Apart from helium token mining you can also trade or stake your tokens for better income. This is a totally different area as we focus mainly on mining. However, if you are interested you can register on one of the trading platforms like Binance and start trading. It is also possible to buy heilum coins for trading through the exchanges. Do your own research before you start trading as it could bring you high profits as well as losses. And we are not financial advisers to help you with it.

If you are planning on crypto mining Helium Mining could be the best way to start.

This is how the HNT Distribution takes place for hilum miners.

Year 1 Rewords

30% – for Network Data Transfer

35% – for Hotspot Infrastructure

35% – for Helium, Inc. and Investors

If you follow the graph below you will notice that the earrings from the consensus groups are fixed from day one to 50 years. But the proof of coverage is higher in the first few years. This happens because of the higher proportion of HNT allocated to Hotspot owners for building and securing network coverage.

Likewise, the HNT distribution changes over time to align incentives with the needs of the network. You can have a better understanding from the image shared below.

How does Helium Mining Calculator Works?

Here’s a helium calculator which does all the hard calculations simply – calculating the Helium Hotspot Earnings. However, the calculator is not 100% accurate. Use it just to get a rough idea. Number of tokens you earn could depend on the current state of the Helium network and the current HNT reward distribution.

Latest News and Updates about New Products

23/02/2022

Helium Hotspot Miner version 2022.02.22.0 has been released, which includes sync improvements and a mandatory core upgrade.

A new 2022.02.22.0 miner and blockchain-core release has been tagged by the core developers. This release is required for all Hotspot Makers (update your fleet by March 3, 2021, 00:00 UTC) and will be required for Validators, ETLs, Routers, and Nodes in the near future. It includes a network enhancement that is locked behind some inactive chain variables. When the chain variable is activated later, hotspots without this update will be unable to sync or mine.

In addition to these enhancements, gateway-rs will be the first release to ship (but not use) some of the infrastructure required for the transition to Light Hotspots. The value of a new sys.config variable, gateway and mux enable, which is set to false by default, will control the use of gateway-rs.

However, if this variable is set to true, the image will run an internal copy of gateway-rs as a miner support process. The gateway-rs will perform two functions for the miner during this phase of the transition: process all traffic to and from the packet forwarder, and interface with the security chip (ECC) for all device transactions.

Manufacturers will be able to begin testing gateway-rs’ behavior, including its ability to transfer device packets without fully synchronizing with the blockchain. During this phase, the miner process will continue to manage PoC traffic for the hotspot as usual.

Finally, the core team has improved the performance of libp2p, allowing hotspots to sync and stay in sync with the blockchain.
