Coolstar released “Jailbreak updater” to Taurine & Odyssey users to update their jailbreak via mobile terminal app without rebooting. “Jailbreak Updater” is now available in Sileo on the Odyssey repo.
You just need to run “jbupdate” as root in a terminal and it’ll update + userspace reboot you into the latest version of Odyssey / Taurine.
Why Jailbreak Updater?
Suppose you need to install the latest update of Taurine or Odyssey. At this point, you need to connect the jailbroken iPhone or iPad to the computer, then install the latest IPA and re-jailbreak the device using the app again.
But this package allows updates to the latest version of Taurine jailbreak or Odyssey jailbreak via the Terminal app. What you must do is run the “jbupdate” command in Terminal on your iOS device as root. It will update the Taurine or Odyssey and reboot into the latest version of Taurine or Odyssey.
How to use jailbreak updater
01 – Download the latest jailbreak ipa of taurine or odyssey from the official website.
02 – Install jailbreak updater
03 – Install a terminal app NewTerm 2. (Otherwise, you can install MTerminal. )
04 – Turn on NewTerm 2 and run “su”
05 – Enter your password
06 – Type “ jbupdate “then press return.
Note – Sometimes the first time it may not work but should work the second time. That means it boots your device into an un-jailbroken state after running the command in the terminal. So, make sure you still installed the latest IPA. Also, run jbupdate as root. To do this, you simply type in ‘sudo jbupdate.

Update Odyssey / Taurine without rebooting and re-jailbreaking using jbupdater
- Taurine 1.0.4 is now available with better battery performance, and fixes for hangs and userspace reboot issues.
- Odyssey 1.3.3 is now available with fixes for Filza not launching and binaries signed with old ldid not spawning.
