TrollTools IPA for TrollStore users with iOS 15 theming tools

TrollTools IPA for TrollStore

TrollStore was created to sideload without revoked IPAs using vulnerable iOS firmware. However, it can also carry out extra operations like granting apps access to the system root.  TrollTools makes use of it by enabling customization of the passcode, badges, and icons in iOS 15. Let’s dig deeper and check out what options are actually possible.

The iOS 15 customization tool TrollTools for TrollStore enables you to use jailbreak themes on stock iOS. Other features are also made possible with it. This is likely the most sophisticated theming engine, which replaces native icons and supports web clips for system apps. Furthermore, it supports iOS 14 as well.

After completing the installation, the TrollTools app icon will be added automatically to your Home Screen. The app’s interface is designed with three main tabs. Themes to load and import for SpringBoard, Change the color of the badge icon, the border radius, and the Pass Keys.

With TrollTools, you can alter the appearance of your passcode buttons, customize the color and border radius of the app icon badges on your Home Screen. And also, alter the appearance of your app icons without the Shortcuts pop-up affecting app launches.

TrollTools Developer

Matthew Anisovich, the 15 year old software developer who is interested in Frontend and Backend development, created TrollTools. It was made available as an open source project via the GitHub Repository under the GPL-3 License. Although this application was written in Swift, there are some sections that use Objective-C. Compiling the project requires the use of Xcode and theos libraries.

TrollTools provides features comparable to those of the Mugunghwa icon theming engine. However, TrollTools is thought to be safer and the app design is better. It applies themes about 25% faster than Mugunghwa. Compared to BlizzardBoard or Shortcuts, it doesn’t produce web clips for all app icons.

How to install TrollTools

TrollTools was made available as an IPA package that can only be set up using the TrollStore on iOS 14 and iOS 15 compatible devices. This iOS 15 theming tool uses a system bug to change some iOS settings, so you can’t install it with other sideloading apps.

Compatibility

iOS 14.0 to iOS 15.4.1, iOS 15.5 beta 1 to iOS 15.5 beta 4, and iOS 15.6 beta 1 to 15.6 beta 5 are all compatible. Other firmware versions are not supported and never will be. There is no support for iOS 15.5 or iOS 15.6. There is also no support for iOS 16.  This app works only because of an iOS bug.

TrollTools installation steps

  • Install TrollStore on iOS 15.4.1 – iOS15. The detailed guide is available here
  • Now download TrollTools IPA
  • Save the downloaded TrollTools ipa on your iCloud
  • Use the TrollStore app to share the IPA file that was stored in iCloud
  • When loaded, TrollStore will automatically install TrollTools
  • Lastly, choose the TrollTools app from the Home Screen

How to install themes:

The TrollTools github page provides instructions on how to install themes in two different methods. We provide detailed instructions for both installation methods in this article.

Method-01 (folder with icons)

  1. Pick a theme from a repository (like havoc.app for example, select “non-jailbroken” when downloading).  The theme must be stored in a folder that also contains app icons
  2. Open the TrollTools folder containing the icon collection
  3. Tap on “Activate”
  4. Only system apps will be copied (duplicated) by web clips
  5. Rebuild the icon cache using the TrollStore application

Method-02 (.deb)

  1. Get the.deb theme
  2. Use your preferred unarchiver to extract the file
  3. Extract data.<type>.<type>
  4. Head over to Library/Themes/ThemeName>. theme and give IconBundles the new name of the theme
  5. Open the TrollTools folder containing the icon collection
  6. Tap on “Activate”
  7. Only system apps will be copied (duplicated) by web clips
  8. Rebuild the icon cache using the TrollStore application

Bug fixes and new features

  • Bring back automatic icon cache rebuild in TrollTools 2.1.2. Users who encounter problems can still reload using TrollHelper (GTA Car Tracker, Tips etc.)
  • Version 2.1.1-The Apply Changes button no longer obscures the information when choosing different icons. A theme’s duplicate icons issue was resolved. The auto cache rebuild feature was removed since it proved problematic for some users
  • V2.1-Additional Icons.  Choosing a theme takes less time and includes a “Apply changes” button. Gradient Badges. In some situations, it is quicker to apply. Passcode buttons now include correct sizes (change big/small sizes)
  • 2.0.1-TrollTools automatically reload the icon cache after applying themes. Troll Store programs that are sideloaded can now be themed
