A new exploit called checkm8 or checkmate released a few days ago. The security researcher Axi0mX (@axi0mX in twitter) discovered this. The most important thing is it is permanent unpatchable bootrom exploit based on the iOS device models. This exists on all Apple products released between 2011 and 2017. That’s mean all A5 to A11 chips affected. This checkm8 bootrom exploit access Apple’s Bootrom (secure boot ROM) to grant iPhone owners full control over their iPhone 4S to iPhone X devices.
These Bootrom jailbreaks are very rare. It basically changes the entire jailbreaking landscape for years. There is no method to fix this type of exploit except physical modifications to an iPhone’s processor. However, this doesn’t work on Apple’s latest A12, and A13 chips powered iPhone X series and iPhone 11 series.

Now this checkm8 jailbreak available on GitHub as ipwndfu open-source jailbreak tool. If you own an iPhone 4S to iPhone X devices, let’s try this.

Checkm8gui – Application for macOS and Linux which will adapt the ipwndfu command-line tool by axi0mX to a graphical application. They mentioned its ETA as October 8th, 2019.
In conclusion, this is not a jailbreak tool. Checkm8 Cydia is not available yet. This is still under development. Once it developed, it can jailbreak millions of iOS devices.
