Apple Music, Apple TV and Apple Devices now available on Windows 11

Last Updated on 1 year by admin

The release of new Apple Music and Apple TV applications by the end of 2022 was confirmed by Microsoft and Apple last year. That didn’t happen, but Apple has now released the Apple Music beta versions and is releasing AppleTV applications for hardware running Windows 11, so you can install them on your Samsung Windows laptop.

Separate Apple Music and Apple TV applications

The Microsoft Store now has separate Apple Music preview and Apple TV preview applications. You may stream high-quality music and films by downloading their beta versions directly to a Windows laptop, PC, or tablet. Both applications operate quicker and use fewer resources than the iTunes app since they were created utilizing cutting-edge Microsoft technology.

The UI layout is basically the same as that of the Apple Music and Apple-TV applications on the macOS platform. Apple has made a modest adjustment, nonetheless, to better match the design style of Windows 11. You may stream hi-res, lossless music with the Apple Music app. The new app lets you access your iTunes purchases and Apple Music library. However, as soon as the new program is installed, iTunes stops working. Lyrics and Dolby Atmos capabilities are still missing from the updated app.

Apple TV Viewing Methods

You may view movies and TV shows from Apple TV+ and the video material you’ve bought from Apple using the Apple TV app for Windows 11. It provides 4K HDR quality on devices that support this resolution and format. Until recently, using a web browser to watch Apple TV material on a Windows computer was the sole option, and even the method was frequently sluggish.

Additionally, Apple is introducing the Apple Devices preview app to Windows 11 via the Microsoft Store. You may use it to sync, backup, and restore data among your Apple products, including Apple Watches, iPads, and iPhones. As audiobooks and podcasts are not yet supported by the new Apple Music app, Apple will keep updating iTunes to accommodate more features.

Apple Devices Preview

Apple Devices

A test program named “Apple Devices” is also available for Windows users. It allows users to control Apple devices from their Windows PC. The program takes the place of iTunes for syncing and backing up, and it also enables users to restore firmware without iTunes.

Compatibility

Each of the three new Apple applications needs Windows 11 version 22621.0 or later to function. According to Apple, installing any of these applications would make iTunes for Windows unable to launch. As the only fix for now, uninstall the apps to continue using iTunes.
