Last Updated on 2 years by admin

These days, whether you’re a Jailbreaker or interested in new jailbreaks, it seems like there are many different projects to keep an eye on. With that in mind, trying to keep up with all these developments may seem like a challenge. However, we are here for that reason. We always try to keep our followers UpToDate. Today’s Jailbreak news is about new tools for TrollStore, Luca Todesco’s demonstration of the iOS 16.1 beta.

Luca Todesco shows how to jailbreak iOS 16.1 beta

Luca Todesco presents how to jailbreak iOS 16.1 beta

At the Hexacon security conference, Luca Todesco, the hacker known for the Yalu iOS 10 jailbreak, the checkra1n jailbreak, and his work on PongoOS-specific hacks, demonstrated a jailbreak on iOS 16.1 beta.

The presentation also covered Apple’s increasingly security mitigations and how they affect current security research.

Here is more information about the presentation and the jailbreak demonstration

The Tweet string shared below is from Shahar Tal, Cellebrite’s vice president of business development. It include pictures of Todesco on stage and some of his fascinating Keynote slides.

In the presentation, Todesco detailed Apple’s ongoing efforts to stop jailbreaking by using both newer hardware and software.

He also referenced iOS’s new Lockdown Mode and improved security features as proof that Apple finally seems to be taking user security more seriously than jailbreaking.

Todesco also emphasized how difficult it has become for hackers to get around Apple’s security measures. Because of how tough Apple has made it and how the company’s rapid pace of improvement is making it.

However, changing the gloomy tone of the presentation Luca Todesco presented the jailbreak demo on Apple’s latest firmware, iOS 16.1 beta release. This is gonna be a big step for Jailbreakers. We will share more on Luca’s jailbreak news as they arrive.

Updates for Palera1n include bug fixes

Version 1.1.1 of the Palera1n iOS 15.x jailbreak tool for developers includes a fair number of bug fixes and enhancements. On iOS 15.0–15.3.1, this jailbreak supports tethered tweak injection. However, since it is based on the checkm8 bootrom exploit, it only appears to support iPhones and iPads with A9–A11 processors.

Modifications stated in official change log for Palera1n v1.1.1
  • Support for beta iPad URLs
  • Ensure that auto-boot is consistently set to false (unless restoring rootfs)
  • Postboot should run only after sshd has started
  • Fixing Tips for errors
  • Repair – restorerootfs

iOS 15.5 beta 4 won’t supported by Fugu15

Initially, the developer of the Fugu15 project, Linus Henze, claimed that the upcoming jailbreak would support iOS & iPadOS versions 15.0-15.5 beta 4. But when he realized his mistake, he later withdrew that statement.

Henze believed he was checking for iOS 15.5 beta 4, but inadvertently checked for compatibility with iOS 15.4 beta 4. Human error caused this. Since Henze must now find new variations, some iOS 15.5 betas may still function. The accurate builds have not yet been determined.

A program that turns.deb files into.ipa files

If you use TrollStore, you might come across a jailbreak app that is .deb-based. This is something you need to install on your device that isn’t jailbroken.

Anyone can use the new deb-to-ipa-apps conversion tool, which enables quick and simple conversion of .deb-based apps into.ipa-based apps.

With the help of this useful tool, anyone using the TrollStore perms-signing app on their phone can now install apps that were previously only accessible to jailbreakers via a package manager app.

Deb-to-ipa-app offers a straightforward blue button for importing a.deb file, which the app can then convert into an app that is compatible with the TrollStore, as you might be able to tell from the app’s screenshot in the image embedded above. Notably, any.deb file won’t function; the file needs to be an app (not a tweak) that was created for a jailbroken device.

BlizzardBoard TrollStore Theming

The new TrollStore app BlizzardBoard enables users to customize their app icons with or without a jailbreak.

You can use theme.deb files by converting them into.zip folders because the app applies themes to.zip folders. In other words users of BlizzardBoard can obtain theme.deb files and then use Filza to convert them to.zip files before transferring them to /var/mobile/Themes.

Furthermore, in addition to the version of Filza that can be installed using a package manager app on jailbroken devices, there is a special version of Filza which was released by TIGI Software that is readily available for TrollStore users with jailbroken devices.

TrollInstaller2 for iOS 14.0-15.5 beta 4 with arm64e

Developer opa334 of the TrollStore perma-signing utility released TrollInstaller2, an updated version of TrollInstaller that adds support for arm64e devices running iOS & iPadOS 14.0-15.5 beta 4. This makes it simpler than ever to install TrollStore on these devices.

Although opa334 believed that support for arm64 devices would initially be feasible, that no longer appears to be the case. Checkra1n and TrollHelper are the new suggested methods for those using older devices to install TrollStore.

TrollStore version 1.2.1 released

Version 1.2.1 has just been updated with a few minor bug fixes and support for TrollHelperOTA, a brand-new installation method created by developer opa334. Any IPA you open in TrollStore will be permanently installed. It is a jailed app with permanent access.

The reason it works is due to a flaw in AMFI/CoreTrust that prevents it from confirming the validity of a root certificate used to sign a binary.

Compatibility

  • TrollStore is compatible with iOS 14.0 through 15.4.1, iOS 15.5 beta 1 through iOS 15.5 beta 4, and iOS 15.6 beta 1 through iOS 15.6 beta 5.Not supported is iOS 15.5 RC or full build.
  • If it’s not supported now, it never will be.
  • TrollStore is a one-time thing that won’t get compatibility updates in the future.

Best jailbreak tweaks for hiding things

There are a ton of jailbreak tweaks available that can be used to hide items from the iOS 14 user interface, and we have put together a specialized list highlighting some of the best ones.

  • Begone – FREE

Begone, a jailbreak tweak that enables the user to selectively hide notification badges from particular app icons on the iPhone’s Home Screen. This is one of my favorite jailbreak tweaks for concealing unwanted user interface elements.

When your iPhone decides to notify you that there is a software update you don’t want to install and there is no native way to hide this badge, this tweak is especially helpful for the Settings app. Depending on your needs, Begone can also be used with other app icons for additional purposes.

  • HideSurplus – FREE

The HideSurplus jailbreak tweak allows users to hide unwanted elements from their device’s Home Screen.

It’s especially helpful for getting rid of things like the app icon labels, the dock background, the Notification Center text that says “No Older Notifications,” and more.

  • Peep Reborn – FREE

You might find Peep Reborn to be a little more practical if you don’t have much experience hiding the Status Bar in specific apps.

Even when you’re viewing from the Home Screen or another location other than an app’s user interface, this jailbreak tweak lets you quickly hide or reveal the Status Bar as needed.

The iOS 16.0.3 Update Released

Apple released iOS 16.0.3 this Monday with numerous bug fixes, most of which were  designed for the iPhone 14 lineup. Obviously, since there is no jailbreak for this update, potential jailbreakers should stay on alert.

Following the release of iOS 16.0.2, which included additional bug fixes for the iPhone 14 lineup, Apple released iOS 16.0.3, which brings the following changes, as noted in the update’s change log:

  • Fix an issue with the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max that could cause incoming call and app notifications to arrive slowly or not at all.
  • Fix an issue wherein iPhone 14 models’ CarPlay phone calls can experience low microphone volume.
  • On the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, fix a problem where the camera may take a while to launch or switch between modes.
  • Fix a bug that could cause the Mail app to crash right after receiving a badly formatted email.

That’s pretty much everything interesting about the latest this week’s updates. Please feel free to leave us a comment if you have any questions or if you think this post helped you to gain knowledge.
