Apple reportedly released iOS 12.4.1 for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. Here is everything you need to know about this update.

Now iOS 12.4.1 available as over the air update. If you are not interested in Jailbreak, just update to this latest version. For the update, Go to your device Settings > General > Software update.

Why iOS 12.4.1?

Actually, iOS 12.4.1 is a minor update. It is released to patch the vulnerability that allowed to Jailbreak. Previously, Google’s Project Zero team reported this bug, and it leads to “a malicious application may be execute arbitrary code with system privileges.” Accordingly, bugs fixed in iOS 12.3. That’s why iOS 12.3 to iOS 12.3.2 versions won’t get any jailbreak.

Accidently, Apple reopened the same bug on iOS 12.4. As a result, iOS 12.4 could be jailbroken. So, Aldeab Ahmed, Arab developer achieved root access on iOS 12.4 for the very first time. Then Pwn20wnd released Unc0ver Jailbreak for iOS 12.4, later Electra team upgraded Chimera for iOS 12.4 jailbreak. Eventually, Apple fixed the bug releasing iOS 12.4.1.

Apple is always trying to prevent the Jailbreak. They have a good reputation for being secure. But with Jailbreak, this is a bit difficult to maintain. Therefore, Apple recently announced to pay up to $1 million to security researchers for finding vulnerabilities under the bug bounty program. Ivan Krstic announced it at this year Black Hat security conference in Las Vegas. Apple put effort to discourage Jailbreak hackers while encourage them to report bugs to Apple.
