How to use COUNTIF function in MS – Excel

Countif function is a cool tool which allows you to get a count of specific item from a column in Microsoft Excel. Example used in this article displays a list of users who logged in to a website using different devices. And let’s check how to get a count of users who logged in using each device.

The same COUNTIF function can be used to get a count of any similar excel table. All you need to know is how to use to function.

Here’s a brief introduction of how to use countif

First select the cell that you need to get the count, then type =COUNTIF and open brackets, now select the range of cells that needs to check for the particular word and type coma ‘,’ next, select the cell that you need to match with the countif function. Finally, close brackets.

Formular should display similar to =COUNTIF(E4:E13,G4)
