Google has started rolling out a new pitch-black dark mode – finally it’s black

Google Dark Mode

Last Updated on 2 years by admin

According to 9to5Google, Google has implemented a new dark mode color scheme. Google’s dark mode now has a pitch-black background instead of the previous gray version, according to the report. (#000000) is the color scheme hash code for the new background color, which will look great on OLED and AMOLED displays.

Google announced earlier this month that its dark mode would be made more widely available. The implementation, on the other hand, has been slow. Some users received the new theme but later lost it.

According to the report, the Google.com homepage remains unchanged and continues to use light grey. While in the quick settings panel, you’ll notice that the new black theme has been renamed “Dark theme.” Google appears to be keeping the old dark theme as a user-selectable option.

Welcome to Google’s new dark mode.

Steps to Enable Google’s Dark Mode

  1. Go to Google.com
  2. Click on the gear icon in the upper right corner
  3. Select the Dark Mode option from the Quick Settings panel

You’re done; Google and its products will now appear in Dark Mode, assuming it has been rolled out to you.

Because OLED and AMOLED displays turn off the pixels that display black color, this new Dark Mode will help people with AMOLED and OLED displays save battery life. This conserves battery life while also providing deeper blacks. More information about OLD battery consumption can be found below.

Google Dark Mode on iPhone

Google Dark Mode looks cool on the iPhone’s OLD screen. If you already have Google’s updated dark theme installed, it should activate automatically.

Dark Mode Activation Steps On your iPhone, iPad, or Mac

  1. Go to google.com
  2. Go to “Settings” (iPad, Mac) or the hamburger icon in the top-left corner (iPhone), then select “Dark Theme” from the menu

This must be done on each device that you want to use Google dark mode on.

Is it true that using dark modes saves battery life?

Although some research papers question this, dark modes are thought to help save battery power. A smartphone’s display is usually the most power-hungry component. The main distinction between LED-based and OLED screens is in the backlighting: Large LEDs are used in LCD screens to diffuse the backlight across the entire screen.

As a result, you’ll notice the backlight shining through pure black areas of the screen when using an LCD-based device / iPhone in a dark environment, making pure black areas appear grayish.

In contrast, OLED technology uses organic light-emitting diodes that do not require any backlighting because they emit their own light. Because all true black (#000000) pixels are turned off and do not consume power, OLED displays are more energy efficient than LCD displays. Aside from true blacks, OLED screens offer high contrast ratios, high brightness, and high resolutions, which are not available with LCDs.
