The new iOS 15.4 Beta helps to prevent AirTag stalking and introduces a new Siri voice with an American accent

iOS 15.4 beta 4

Last Updated on 2 years by admin

Another week, another iOS 15.4 beta. This time, Apple’s fourth developer beta includes at least two new features. These updates are related to Air Tags and Siri Voice. Let’s dig into the details.

AirTag features are updated with the iOS 15.4 beta.

The most significant of these is the start of Apple’s anti-stalking measures, which are intended to make it more difficult for people to track you without your knowledge using an Air Tag. Apple also added a new message to the AirTag setup screen. With the iOS 15.4 beta, it displays a message informing users that tracking someone without their knowledge is a crime in many parts of the world. And that air tag is designed to be detectable and enable law enforcement to identify the owner.

The expectation is that the warning will discourage would-be stalkers, but there are also a few other minor changes, such as the ability to disable item safety alerts being removed, and the type of device detected by Find My being made clearer. With these changes, you shouldn’t get an ambiguous “Unknown Accessory Alert” anymore.

Changes in Siri Voice—iOS 15.4 beta 4 updates

The latest iOS 15.4 beta includes a new “American” Siri voice, the fifth in the series. In the tweet above, you can hear a sample of how this sounds.

This appears to be the only new Siri voice for any region, but if you’re dissatisfied with the other four American options, this could be a big deal.

So far, those are the only changes in this new beta, but other tweaks could be lurking somewhere, and we’ve already seen plenty of additions in earlier iOS 15.4 betas, such as Universal Control and the ability to use Face ID properly with a mask.

iOS 15.4 Release Date Suggestion

If you want to get an early look at this stuff, we expect a public beta to arrive soon, but based on past experience, even the finished iOS 15.4 release won’t be more than a few weeks away.

Apple’s anti-stalking efforts are commendable, but the changes made in this beta are insufficient. They don’t even add any new features; the main change is simply a warning.

The good news is that Apple has a lot more in store, including enhancements to the system logic for detecting unwanted AirTag trackers, which will allow those being tracked to be notified sooner. A precision tracking feature is also being developed by the company, which will make it easier for users to locate an unknown AirTag.

But, aside from a vague promise of later this year, there’s no word on when these changes will be implemented. So, it’s possible that we’ll have to wait a while longer. However, until the final version with all features is available for the general public, beta testers can experience the new changes – Download iOS 15.4 beta 4. We are open to hearing your comments.
