Earlier today CoolStart publicly posted a message on Sileo / Taurine / Odyssey Discord Channel General section that she contacted patten_f. Since this is to check on the possibilities of sharing his exploit details it is fantastic news for Taurine Jailbreak lovers.
Furthermore, CoolStar mentions that if the information is received it is possible to link the exploit with Taurine. This will support A12 and A13 supported devices which are on iOS / iPadOS 14.6 – 14.8. This is the relatively same exploit that is now included in the unc0ver v8.0.0.
Post from CoolStar
Moreover, in the conversation chain Starplayer123 (CoolStar) informs that linking the exploit with the Taurine Jailbreak tool takes around 10 minutes. And the rest will be the time required for testing. However, this is all possible based on the decision that pattern_f makes to share this exploit. We hope they will come to a mutual understanding and support the process. Thanks just a wish that we could make on January 1st 2022.
Taurine Jailbreak
If you haven’t tried Taurine here’s a summary just to keep you on track. Taurine uses libhooker and provinces fast, supercharged experience. It is open sourced and you can call it the best possible jailbreak.
The latest Taurine Version 1.1.1. Released on 4th September 2021. Supports both iPhones and iPads 14.0 – 14.3. However, compared to unc0ver Taurine not updated to iOS 14.4 – 14.5.1 as Fugu14.
For now all we can do is wait for a positive response from pattern_f. Also, we will update if there’s any response that supports the request made by CoolStar.
Update as of 2nd Jan 2022
As we promised yesterday, we are bringing you updates about the exploit request between CoolStart and Pattern_f.
As the communications go on, pattern_f response to CoolStar. And it is bad news plugging the exploit to Taurine is not going to get real. At least for now it’s not. For some reason pattern_f doesn’t want to make the exploit code public.
Digging deeper into finding reasons there is a hint on another post. Pattern_f thanking Pwn20wnd for his great work. We are not exactly sure whether the thanking message related to unc0ver in general or whether he thanked us for the support received for coding the exploit. However, this could be one reason for not sharing the exploit coding with CoolStar.
Moreover, now the original goal seems to be changed. It is now questionable whether it is worth having the exploit or not. Considering that CVE-2021-30955 is going to be available to the public it makes the exploit no longer the priority. However, still it isn’t the best time to jump into conclusions. And hoping for a Taurine jailbreak soon.
