Huawei officially enters the battle by releasing their operating system as Harmony OS. HongMeng and Ark OS are the other names for HarmonyOS. Huawei came up with the idea of making a seamless operating system ten years back. Finally, they released the big news during Huawei Developer Conference 2019.
Richard Yu CEO Huawei’s consumer business announces that the HarmonyOS is a microkernel-based operating system which is different from iOS and Android. It is smooth and can be adapted easily to any device starting from smart speakers to wearables. OS also has a secure architecture.
Huawei also states because of the flexibility of the OS deploying the app’s across different devices is straightforward once the developers create. HongMeng OS also states it is lightweight and compact embedded with powerful functionality. The Harmony OS will first roll out with smartwatches, screens, smart speakers and vehicle systems.
Furthermore, according to rumors, brands under BBK have already implemented and tested HarmonyOS.
