Apple released iOS 15.2, the second major update for iOS 15. It has added a few new features announced at WWDC 2021 with the iOS 15 launch. Here we are discussing the iOS 15.2 features as well as iOS 15.2 Jailbreak status.
iOS 15.2 Features
- App Privacy Report – This feature helps users control who has access to their data. It shows how apps have accessed your location, photos, camera, microphone, contacts and which apps have contacted other domains and how recently they have contacted them. Go to Settings app, then Privacy section, choose App Privacy Report, toggle it on.

- Apple Music Voice Plan – Voice Plan provides access to all songs, playlists, and stations in Apple Music using Siri. Users can subscribe to the Voice Plan through Siri or by signing up through the Music app.

- Legacy Contacts – This new feature allows you to set a trusted person to be able to access your Apple ID and your data after you die. You will be able to name someone and provide them with a security key. However, the key will not be usable while you are alive. It will activate when providing a copy of your death certificate.

- Macro Control for photos – iPhone 13 Pro or Max can now use the ultra wide lens to take close-up photos and videos in 15.2. Go to Settings > Camera > Macro Control > On the toggle. It will show a flower icon on your screen when taking a picture.
iOS 15.2 jailbreak status
Still there is no jailbreak for iOS 15 onwards. Even though iOS 15 – iOS 15.1.1 jailbreak is possible, iOS 15.2 Jailbreak will be very hard. It has fixed multiple kernel vulnerabilities on lower versions. You can see it through Apple security content.
In brief,
iOS 15.2 has fixed the many bugs in IOMobileFrameBuffer (IOMBF), one of poumar attack surfaces.
Patched a kernel vulnerability that earned researchers at Pangu team $300,000 for its remote jailbreak capabilities.
Patched “execute arbitrary code with kernel privileges” vulnerability discovered by Zweig of Kunlun Lab.
Fixed a set of racing bugs in setsockopt (accessible from WebContent until 14.5.1) code with improper locking leading to UaF reliably exploitable for LPE (1/3)
Should you update?
So if you are interested in Jailbreak, don’t upgrade your device to iOS 15.2, Stay on iOS 15.1. It might get jailbroken soon.
