I bet you never thought apple would release a new tvos beta just few days after apple tv os 15.1. Current release of the 15.2 beta is available for developers only. And the build number of the latest roll out is 19K5025g. However, being a developer or not it is good to know how the Apple TV going to be in future.
The rumors state the beta release of the TVOS does not include any major updates. But the interesting fact is apple release notes reveal many changes which is worth knowing.
How to test TVOS 15.2 Beta for developers
We always recommend developers not to use the primary device for beta tastings. Unless it has no essential data or apps. Furthermore, due to the instability in beta releases it could cause data losses or application malfunctions. Therefore, it is always important to backup before trying out new beta versions.
Steps to install Apple TV OS 15.2 beta
Though this process can be completed wirelessly you may need a Mac to proceed. The SDK comes bundled with Xcode 13.2 beta therefore there is no need to download Xcode separately. However, if required xcode is available to download separately.
- Visit Apple ios developer login on iMac
- Click on Discover

- Next Click Download, at this step you may need to use the apple developer login to gain access to the page
- Scroll till you get to “tvOS 15 beta configuration profile” and download the file using the blue download button. It is better to save the download in Desktop
- Now you need to install Apple Configurator 2 from the store
- Connect Apple TV HD / Apple TV 4K to power. Also, make sure both Apple TV and the Mac is connected to the same Wi-Fi network
- Open Xcode on iMac and click Window which is in the menu bar
- Click Devices and Simulators
- Open Settings from the Apple TV and tab on Remote App and Devices
- On Mac- in xcode select AppleTV when it displays
- To pair the AppleTV with the Mac use the code that appear on Apple TV
- Next, open Apple Configurator on Mac and click on Apple TV
- In this step we need to location the tvOS 15 Configuration Profile (previously saved on desktop) and drag and drop the file into the AppleTV on Apple Configurator
- Now the Apple TV will get configured for TVOS 15.2 beta.
The above method should work on both Apple TV HD and Apple TV 4K. Although other methods are available this seems to be the most compatible and simplest method.
