Jailbreaking Apple devices is one of the key areas that we are interested in sharing with the community. Today is another happy day for the iPhone Jailbreaking community. As stated in the post title Odyssey team is working on a sandbox escape for A12+ devices. This is for the devices with a12 bionic chip that runs on iOS 15.0 to 15.1.1.
The big news was shared by the ‘CoolStar’ (Odyssey Team Lead Developer). In the discord post it is also said that the A12 and newer handsets will not have the same easy jailbreaking as we are used to on A9 – A11 chipsets. However, the news about the possibilities of Jailbreaking A12 + handsets is a huge news for the Apple Jailbreak lovers. Furthermore even with the new security mitigations in place, it is expected that the newer processors will be jailbreak friendly.
Moreover, to make the newer chipset-equipped handsets compatible with Odyssey, there may be new techniques required. Sandbox escape is required for iOS 15.0-15.1.1. “CoolStar” claims the Odyssey Team is currently working on this. Similarly newer releases of iOS versions may need newer methods for jailbreaking.

The post mentions that Jailbreak is quite not dead yet. However, it may not be easier to Jailbreak iPhones and iPads which come with iOS 15.2 or later. So in other words we can still have hopes about never Jailbreaks anyhow the complexity of new iOS makes the entire jailbreak development process more resource-intensive.
While the Odyssey Team’s jailbreak has no ETA, we do know that it will be a rootless jailbreak. This is due to Apple’s secure system volume (SSV) security mitigations, which began with iOS & iPadOS 15. The majority of jailbreak tweaks can be updated to work with this jailbreak.
