The M1 Ultra chip is made up of two M1 Max chips connected by “UltraFusion,” a die-to-die technology. Apple Silicon has released a new high-end chip with 114 billion transistors and support for 800GB/s bandwidth memory.
UltraFusion allows two M1 Max chips to connect together across more than 10,000 signals, offering 2.5TB/s of bandwidth, according to Apple.
A 20-core CPU with 16 high-performance and four high-efficiency cores powers the M1 Ultra. The M1 Ultra supports up to 128GB of unified memory, which is an upgrade from the M1 Pro and M1 Max’s support of up to 64GB.

In terms of graphics, the M1 Ultra has a 64-core GPU that is 8 times faster than the M1. M1 Ultra is equipped with a 32-core Neural Engine capable of 22 trillion operations per second and two separate media engines.
Apple claims that the M1 Ultra offers “unprecedented” power efficiency with equally unprecedented power, as is typical of Apple Silicon.

In the same power envelope, it delivers 90 percent higher multi-threaded performance than the fastest available 16-core PC desktop chip. In addition, the M1 Ultra uses 100 fewer watts to reach the peak performance of the PC chip.
