How to fix bad iOS 15.2.1 Battery Life Drain issue

Apple released iOS 15.2.1 a few days ago. Now it has been reported that several users experience the iOS 15.2.1 battery life drain issues. Not only battery draining issues but also app force closes,  Wi-Fi issues, notifications not coming, verification failed, unlocking iPhone with Apple Watch, unresponsive touchscreen, etc. On the other hand, the battery draining issue has been around for a long time on almost every iOS. Whenever a new firmware update arrives users are dealing with battery life issues. 

Check out the following tips on how to fix iOS 15.2.1 battery life drain effectively!

Adjust or Turn off location services 

A ton of apps are using your location at the same time. It drains a lot of battery power. So, you can individually select which apps are useful to track the location all the time. Disable any apps that you don’t need to have any indication of your location. Otherwise, turn it off and use it when absolutely necessary. Go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services. 

Turn on low power mode

You can improve the battery life enabling low power mode when low on battery charge. It disables background refresh, push notifications, email fetching  and automatic downloads to keep the battery charge a little longer. Go to Settings > Battery > Turn on the Low Power Mode toggle

Check Battery Health & Suggestions

When your iPhone battery is damaged or battery health goes down it can’t sustain the charge properly. It needs to change the battery as soon as possible to protect your device. So, checking battery health is useful to fix Battery Life Drain issue. Also, the system will suggest some options to improve the battery backup too. Go to Settings > Tap on Battery > Tap on Battery Health.

Reduce Screen Brightness / 

You can adjust brightness manually as per requirement going through the Control Center on your iPhone by swiping down from the upper-right side. Just drag the brightness level slider to a minimum from there. Or you can disable Auto-Brightness. Go to Settings > General > Accessibility > Display & Text Size > Turn off the Auto-Brightness toggle.

Use Dark mode

Dark mode is especially designed to enhance the viewing experience and  protects your eyes from stress and bad effects. On the other hand it will help to increase the battery life. So, when you use dark mode it can reduce power usage by a significant amount. Go to Settings > Display & Brightness > click on the Dark option to fix battery Life Drain issue

Reset All Settings

Resetting all settings on iPhone will help your device return to the factory default settings. It does not affect your data. When reset gives a new start to the iPhone it will increase the battery health. Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings.

Restart / Reboot iPhone

Force restart solves many problems including battery drain issues on your iPhone. To reboot your iPhone, press the Volume Up button , the Volume Down button, and then quickly press and hold the Power button until you see the Apple logo show up.

Check All Pending App Updates

Some apps may cause your battery to drain so fast because of bugs. So developers always try to fix these bugs by releasing updates. Therefore keep your apps up to date. Wait for all the apps to update going through the App Store > Account/Profile > Update All option > Done.

Once done, restart your iPhone.

Disable Raise to Wake

The Raise to Wake feature automatically wakes the Lock screen to quickly check your notifications, access Control Center, swipe left to take a photo, or swipe right to access widgets. This feature absorbs a certain amount of battery. So, you can improve your battery health by going through Settings > Display & Brightness > Disable the “Raise to Wake” feature.

Remove Unnecessary Screen Widgets

Screen widgets always try to update the information or details in the background. It will help to easily check the battery level, weather or other message notification, quick reply, news, reminders, etc. Hence this is running in the background all the time it takes a lot of battery power. To remove widgets,  swipe to the Widget & Shortcut area, Scroll to the bottom and tap on Edit. Tap on the red circle icon next to the widgets > Remove > Done.
