Apple is collaborating with a South Korean company to develop an Apple Car Autopilot feature

Last Updated on 3 years by admin

According to a new report, Apple has been working on an autopilot processor for the rumored “Apple Car” with an unnamed South Korean partner.

According to recent reports, Apple is scouting South Korean suppliers for “Apple Car” parts. However, it is now claimed that the firm has been working with Apple for nearly a year.

Apple has been working on an autopilot chip module with an OSAT (outsourced semiconductor assembly and testing) company. As per the report’s unnamed sources, the project began in 2021. It is scheduled to be finished in 2023.

There aren’t many more details. According to the publication, the processor and its outsourcing to an OSAT firm are similar to how Tesla developed its autopilot.

Apple Korea is said to have chosen the South Korean OSAT firm. Apple Korea was tasked with working with South Korean companies when developing the M1 processor, but there is no evidence backing up that claim.

However, it has a poor track record when it comes to specifics. The report released on Tuesday is more of the latter than the former. We will provide more updates on Apple Car Autopilot feature once we gather more information.
