New Android Version Releases and Beta Updates
Google is moving fast with mobile software development. The latest quarterly platform release is rolling out to supported Pixel devices. This update brings subtle performance tweaks and battery life fixes. Users report smoother scrolling across the entire user interface.
If you like living on the edge, the early preview program for the next major Android version is still accepting sign-ups. Developers are testing new notification styles and window management tools. You should avoid installing beta software on your primary phone. Bugs are still common at this stage.
Major App Updates
Popular applications received big updates this week. Google Maps now features better three-dimensional building rendering in major cities. Finding parking spots near your destination is also much easier now. The app uses historical data to predict open spaces.
Third-party developers are also busy. Spotify just rolled out a redesigned widget for your home screen. You can control playback and switch playlists without opening the full application. The new design matches modern material design guidelines.
