What is Jailbreaking Firestick
Jailbreaking removes restrictions from installing official firmware shared by the manufacturer. It also enables installing untheorized third-party applications.
The jailbreaking process of Firestick is different from usually known iPhone jailbreaking. As we are not installing any custom-made firmware. However, the process is called the same for easy understanding.
Firestick owners’ interest in jailbreaking started to grow after the Amazon app store removed KODI in June of 2015. Soon, this opened gates to install unauthorized builds of KODI and other thousands of free streaming applications.

- Power up the Firestick and press the “Home Button” on the remote once the screen load to the home screen.
- Hover over the “Settings” menu.
- Click “Preferences”
- Navigate to “Privacy Settings”
NOTE- If your device is not having the latest update, you may not be able to proceed ahead. - Turn off all 3 options
Device Usage Data. – Turn Off
Collect App Usage Data. – Turn Off
Interest-based Ads. – Turn Off
Go Back to the Previous Screen. - Click on “Data Monitoring”
- Turn off “Data Monitoring”
- Go Back to “Preferences” and Click “Featured Content”
- Turn Off “Allow Video Autoplay” & “Allow Audio Autoplay”
- Press Back Button on the remote and go to the previous screen.
- Select “My Fire TV”
- After that click “Developer Options”
- Navigate to “Unknown Sources” and click on it.
- Finally, on the pop-up screen “Apps from Unknown Sources” select the “Turn On” Button.
Now you have enabled installing applications that aren’t provided by the Amazon App Store” this completes the Firestick Jailbreaking process.
